What is a rainforest?
A rainforest is a tall, dense, thick jungle which gets annual rainfall every year. A wide range of plants and animals live there and have to learn to adapt to its hot, humid climate and the amount of rainfall that falls every year. 2-8 inches of rain falls in rainforests every year. It is made up of a thick canopy of trees and therefore it is very dark and dim inside. A rainforest is like a big area of shelter for the animals and plants. It is a very dense and damp environment.
